Comic delivery with bold character acting.

Johnathan McClain is an actor, writer and narrator known to LitRPG listeners for Noobtown. His other audio work includes Big Sneaky Barbarian (2022) and Meet Your Maker (2024). He also writes the Meet Your Maker series with Seth McDuffee, giving him a second role in those stories.
A review of Meet Your Maker highlights strong delivery and timing, while also finding some of the loud voices tiring. That book gives a concrete example of his bold comic approach: the reviewer praises the performance’s quality but finds the repeated screeches and vocal effects too much.
He may suit listeners who enjoy big reactions, noisy comedy and a narrator who throws himself into the joke. Those who prefer quiet humour may want a sample first. He shared the 2016 Audie Award for Multi-Voiced Performance as part of the cast of Illuminae.

The store lists more than one edition of the opening book, including an enhanced edition. Preview the one you plan to buy. Listen for whether the comic delivery stays comfortable for you; a joke can be funny in a short clip but tiring over a long session.
