Distinct voices for heroes and comic companions.

Profile checked November 2026. Style notes draw on the linked reviews and sources; they are not a claim that we have heard every recording.

Luke Daniels is an actor and audiobook narrator with a background in theatre. His genre credits include Iron Prince and Ascend Online. Other audio work includes Hounded (2011) and Off to Be the Wizard (2014), two useful starting points for his comic character work.

Reviews highlight varied voices and humour. In Hounded, the reviewer praises the wit and sharp edge he gives Atticus, while describing the dog Oberon as a lovable fool. Those two characters offer a clear example of his comic range. The same review also praises his voices for women.

He may appeal to listeners who want a busy cast to sound clearly different, with jokes carried by the acting. If broad comic voices feel distracting, sample Oberon’s dialogue first. Daniels’s own biography records his recognition as Audible’s Narrator of the Year in 2012.

Where to try this voice

His site has a Samples section. Use it to compare the main reading voice and character dialogue, then check the Iron Prince preview for that specific performance. A long training story needs a voice you enjoy between fights as well as during them.
